Employee Spotlight: Jeff O'Brien

At CNI, we are proud to spotlight our dedicated employees who drive our success. This month, we recognize Jeff O'Brien for his contributions to business development and retention in CNI's BD team. Jeff has been with CNI for 4 years as a Senior Director of Business Development. Jeff's primary duties focus on Department of Defense contracts, training, professional services, construction, and IT solutions.

Inspiration & Leadership

Jeff said he finds inspiration within CNI from our CEO/President, Eduardo Marquez, who Jeff said embodies the American dream through hard work and determination. On a personal level, Jeff's Uncle Don instilled a drive to explore the world, pursue education, and contribute meaningfully to society—values he carries forward every day.

Advice & Challenges

Jeff's  advice to those starting their careers? Stay humble—someone before you has succeeded in your shoes, and so can you.
Facing challenges in both military combat operations and federal contracting, Jeff learned that teamwork, patience, and adaptability are key to overcoming uncertainty and shifting priorities.

Beyond Work

Outside of CNI, Jeff has a hidden talent for French and Italian cooking—thanks to a cookbook tradition from his mom. He also enjoys golf, yard work, collecting watches, and spending quality time with his family.

Jeff's approach to motivation is simple yet powerful: Put one foot in front of the other.
