The Research Engineer II is an experienced professional in the field of research and development. They work on complex research projects, design experiments, analyze data, and contribute to the development of new technologies, products, or processes. They may also provide guidance and mentorship to junior research engineers.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Must possess appropriate level of certifications for this position as required by the contract.   

  •  Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property. 

 KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following Other duties may be assigned. 

 

  • Designs and conducts research experiments or projects independently or as part of a team. 

  • Develops and implements research methodologies and experimental protocols. 

  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets data using advanced tools and techniques. 

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop innovative technologies, products, or processes. 

  • Contributes to the design and construction of prototypes or experimental setups. 

  • Performs tests and measurements to evaluate the performance of prototypes or experimental systems. 

  • Documents experimental procedures, results, and observations in a thorough and accurate manner. 

  • Troubleshoots technical issues and propose solutions based on research findings. 

  • Stays updated with the latest advancements in the field through literature reviews and attending conferences or seminars. 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor's degree and two to four (2-4) years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education/experience. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
