Electronic Equipment Technician II
The Electronics Equipment Technician II provides technical support to the FAA eFast NAS TSS AMA-900 contract. Support includes, on a daily basis, training or functional environment including, but not limited to, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, system installation, removal and configuration, troubleshooting, reporting inventory and quality management system support.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance.
High degree of electronic and communications systems knowledge relevant to NAS and FAA automation environments.
Knowledge of computer operating systems such as Solaris, AIX, Linux, Unix, and Windows preferred.
Experience with Cisco switch configuration and maintenance, preferred.
Experience maintaining software on Windows and Linux based workstations, preferred.
Knowledge and experience performing electronic and computer hardware maintenance, including component-level replacement and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with test equipment such as multimeters, cable meters, toners, and TDRs.
Programming knowledge in C and/or C++ preferred.
CompTIA Network+ Certification preferred.
A mandatory math refresher course must be successfully completed to continue employment.
Evening shift work may be required in support of the FAA Academy training environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs hardware and software installation, maintenance, repair, modification, and certification of NAS automation in accordance with FAA Handbook specifications, FAA Standards, and customer requirements.
Performs analysis, system modification, and system certification activities to FAA Standards.
Apply comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers manuals FAA documentation, and similar technical references.
Plan work sequences select appropriate tools and testing instruments, and apply working knowledge of circuit interrelationships.
Perform testing and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, digital volt/ohm meters, and other electronic test equipment, including multimeters, cable meters, toners, and Time Domain Reflectometers (TDRs).
Provides Cisco switch configuration and maintenance support.
Maintains and support software on Windows- and Linux-based support workstations.
Performs hardware maintenance, including replacing and/or repairing hard drives, motherboards, video cards, RAM, CPUs, monitors, power supplies, network cards, printers, and other peripherals.
Conducts fact finding and analysis to address routine technical problems and activities, applying established procedures where system design, feasibility, hardware, operating systems, and programming languages have been defined.
Research routine user or system problems and resolves them by modifying existing systems when solutions follow clear precedents.
Performs tasks involving complex and varied assignments, including adapting to new technologies and methods that require application or technical expertise.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or General Education degree (GED) and a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience; or an Associate degree and a minimum of two (2) years or relevant experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is primarily performed in a professional office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Seldom lifting of office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds, as necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
