UI/UX Developer

The UI/UX Developer is a senior role requiring significant experience and expertise in both user interface design and user experience strategy in logistics and supply chain management. This role develops user interfaces for websites and web-based applications. Translates design mockups and wireframes into code for website and web-based application UI. Designs prototypes; writes and tests code for new or existing applications. Identifies new technologies that can add additional visual display capabilities and enhance site usability. Supports backend integration and maintains graphic standards and branding throughout the UI.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property.

  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar software.

  • Strong understanding of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc) and frameworks.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Leads the design and development of user interfaces and ensure they meet business objectives and user needs.

  • Develops user personas, conducts user research, and analyzes data to inform design decisions.

  • Creates wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications.

  • Conducts usability testing and gather qualitative and quantitative insights to refine and improve UI/UX.

  • Advocates for the end user in all design decisions, maintaining a user-centric mindset.

  • Works closely with project manager, engineers, and other stakeholders to define and implement solutions for product direction, visuals, and experience.

  • Ensures design solutions align with best practices and contributes to the company’s design system and style guides.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless transition between design and development.

  • Presents design concepts and solutions to stakeholders and gather feedback for iteration.

  • Oversees multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

  • Stays up to date with current UI/UX trends, techniques, and technologies.

  • Mentors and guides junior designers and developers, providing direction and feedback on design processes and deliverables.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and a minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.  

  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS  

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
