The Videographer shoots field video, edits reports. Site setup is required and needed for special occasions at offsite external video/shoot outside of normal location/studio.  From time to time, position is required to adjust lighting and background for the set.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Mixes audio for all live broadcasts.  

  • Provides support to Director in all aspects live production.  

  • Assists as backup Director, Content Archivist or Chyron Operator as necessary.  

  • Responsible for creating sets and backgrounds available to clients for their video recordings.  

  • Maintains and designs a “lit a mock” exam room built with equipment and shelving from medical supplies. 

  • Responsible for build out of lit in our studio a “laboratory” set, with suspended shelving and counterspace with medically lab equipment.   

  • Oversees and maintains all studio backdrops, studio lights, and projectors. 

  • Able to project photographic images on our studio walls, with images printed on standard office laser printers.   
  • Responsible for designing various lighting to lit solid white, solid black, and soft black with a halo light and ensuring lighting is evenly distributed throughout the room. 

  • Managing and overseeing the conversion of Broadcast Skinner Studio A into an auditorium, for a “town hall” meeting with a live studio audience of 50 audience members.   

  • Responsible for maintaining and designing an elaborate handheld camera rig, complete with camera, recorder, on-board lighting, two wireless microphones and teleprompter.   

  • Must be able to operate handheld camera rig around neck while navigating frontward and backward while filming and CDC customers and guest speakers for CDC social media and/or other purposes.   

  • Responsible for upgrading all equipment purchases and/or recommendations to help ensure that CDC Broadcast stays current with the latest equipment and trends in video recording and live programming.   

  • Responsible for overseeing CDC Broadcast inventory.  This involves tracking the location of our nearly 200 inventory equipment items worth millions of dollars and includes tracking new items which we frequently add throughout the year.   
  • Manages and works closely with CDC and engineering staff to annually to ensure old equipment is liquidated properly from CDC warehouse to make room for newer technology and equipment.   

  • Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company. 

  • Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. 

  • Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and co-workers.   

  • Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources.  Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or six (6) years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
