Business Systems Analyst II

SUMMARY 

The Business Systems Analyst III is responsible for analyzing business processes, systems, and technologies within an organization. Bridges the gap between business needs and IT solutions by understanding business requirements and translating them into technical specifications. 

 

Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the followingOther duties may be assigned. 

 

Collaborate with stakeholders from various departments to gather and document business requirements. Conducts interviews, workshops, and analysis of existing systems to understand user needs and define functional and non-functional requirements. 

  

Perform detailed analysis of existing systems, processes, and workflows to identify areas for improvement or automation. Assesses system capabilities, data flows, integration points, and user interfaces to ensure alignment with business objectives. 

  

Work closely with stakeholders and IT teams to design solutions that meet business requirements. Creates system design documents, wireframes, and prototypes to illustrate proposed solutions and facilitate discussions with stakeholders. 

  

Create comprehensive documentation including functional specifications, use cases, process flows, data models, and user stories. Ensures all relevant stakeholders have access to up-to-date documentation throughout the project lifecycle. 

  

Participate in system testing activities to validate that the implemented solution meets the defined requirements. Develops test plans, test cases, and perform testing to identify defects or issues that need to be addressed. 

  

Support change management efforts by communicating system changes to stakeholders, addressing concerns or resistance, and facilitating training or workshops to ensure smooth adoption of new systems or processes. 

 

Collaborate closely with IT teams such as developers, architects, and project managers to ensure successful implementation of solutions. Provides guidance on business requirements, assist in system configuration or customization, and support the development of technical specifications. 

  

May be involved in project management activities such as creating project plans, tracking progress, and coordinating tasks with various stakeholders. Ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the defined requirements. 

  

Communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels of the organization, including business users, management, and IT teams. Provides training and support to end-users during system implementations or upgrades. 

 

Promote continuous improvement by staying updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in business systems analysis. Identifies opportunities for process optimization and propose enhancements to existing systems. 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four to seven (4-7) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.   

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusExposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.

The estimated pay range for this role is $60K to $110k, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
