The Acquisitions Analyst II provides acquisition and procurement support to ensure effective planning, coordination, and execution of federal contracting actions. This position assists Contracting Officer’s Representatives (CORs), program managers, and stakeholders with tracking, documentation, and compliance efforts across the contract lifecycle. Responsibilities include gathering requirements, supporting invoice and financial reviews, contract closeout activities, maintaining audit-ready records, and improving acquisition processes and tools. The analyst plays a vital role in supporting the mission through timely and accurate acquisition administration.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

Must possess and maintain an active Secret security clearance and be eligible for access to classified information at the Secret level. Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property. 

Prior experience supporting acquisition activities in a federal government environment. 

Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.   

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the followingOther duties may be assigned. 

 

Conducts research and analysis in support of acquisition planning and documentation. 

Assists in the preparation and review of Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), and Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs). 

Gathers and documents requirements from stakeholders and requirement owners to support procurement planning. 
 
 

Tracks contract obligations, expenditures, and invoice status at the CLIN level; assists in validating invoices against contract terms. 
 

Coordinates with vendors and government payment offices to support resolution of billing or funding issues. 
 

Supports the development of spend plans and preparation of support agreements or other funding documents. 
 

Maintains acquisition documentation and ensures records are compliant and audit-ready. 
 

Creates and maintains basic tracking tools and visual dashboards using Excel or Power BI to enhance financial and contract visibility.
 

Participates in meetings, captures action items, and contributes to updates and creation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process maps related to acquisition functions. 
 

Monitors acquisition milestones, contract deliverables, and deadlines to support successful contract administration. 

Supports contract closeout processes, including document collection, funding reconciliation, and coordination with CORs, vendors, and finance teams to confirm fulfillment of all contract terms and deliverables. Assists with the preparation of closeout checklists and de-obligation of unused funds. 

Assist COR(s) with the onboarding and offboarding of personnel, including coordinating required documentation and ensuring timely access or removal from government systems

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Experience must include support to federal procurement, acquisition, or contract administration functions within a government agency or federal contractor setting. 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
