The Computer Based Training Developer supports the federal client develop an interactive e-Learning asset catalog for various training efforts with rapid e-Learning authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Storyline 360, Photoshop, Illustrator, Camtasia, SnagIt, Premiere Pro, Audition, MS Word, Excel, and Acrobat or comparable tools.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance level for access to classified information, systems, facilities, equipment, and property.

Bachelor’s degree in education, in a computer-related education training and development discipline and a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.

Possesses strong experience in adult learning and training required as well as expertise in developing asynchronous learning courses.

USPTO or Intellectual Property experience greatly preferred

Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with experience communicating effectively with all levels of staff and management.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Designs, develops, indexes, and maintains technical documentation using the Intranet.

  • Monitors end-user feedback and systems development efforts to facilitate continuing improvement of documentation.

  • Develops e-Learning (web-based training and computer-based training) courses on supported software.

  • Provides feedback to management on scheduling and staffing concerns

  • Reviews scripts and notes of storyboards or PowerPoint files used to develop training courses

  • Provides voiceover scripting, recordings and productions

  • Provides audio sweetening/enhancements to make the audio more pleasing to the ear. Includes adjusting level, frequency, and tone of specific sounds and sound effects.

  • Utilizes techniques such as storyboarding and prototyping to help clients subject matter experts understand the project before building the course

  • Build assessments to measure learners’ knowledge and skills throughout the courses. Knows how to write effective eLearning questions to assist clients and subject matter experts to receive feedback to enhance learner’s knowledge.

  • Adheres to Section 508 compliance and other electronic and IT accessibility compliance laws and policies

  • Provides customer service to interact and respond to clients, SMEs, and colleagues politely and professional to answer questions and requests.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in education, in a computer-related education training and development discipline and a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work is primarily performed in an office / home office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear.
