SUMMARY
The Systems Engineer III designs, develops, supports, and maintains the organization's systems infrastructure, including the implementation and design of hardware and software. Makes updates to system related installation documentation. Performs end-user support.
Analyzes, develops, modifies, tests and maintains the system.
Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Tests and evaluates the compatibility and integration of new systems with existing infrastructure, networks, and applications. Designs models and utilizes analysis and solution development methods, including process maps, flow charts, and diagrams.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supports the development of infrastructure designs that are innovative, resilient, and highly available.
Provides mid-level support on tiered storage systems, both on-premises and cloud and unified computing.
Supports available web applications hosted across various operating systems and understanding of load balancing, elasticity, etc.
Provides automation of IT Infrastructure.
Analyzes, develops, modifies, tests and maintains the system.
Responsible for operational availability of all the systems hosted on the infrastructure.
Supports information assurance process in a mid-level technical role by complying with technical controls, technical checklists etc.
Proactively reviews inventory status of IT hardware and performing reconciliation analysis of IT asset records within our ServiceNow environment.
Identifies opportunities on how to better manage and reconcile inventory and related reporting.
Defines audit and asset record reconciliation procedures for recurring data integrity refresh.
Research new and innovative solutions and promoting process improvement.
Identifies and pursues process improvement, automation, and application integration opportunities.
Learns from and educates fellow team members.
Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.
Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.
Works with IT and business project teams to understand reporting requirements and to propose solutions by developing management reports, system dashboards and other documents/records using appropriate reporting methods.
Attends meetings as assigned (e.g., for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform the functions of the position). Maintains Standard Operating Procedures/Desk References for use by other employees when performing backup or relief duties.
Configures software changes, upgrades systems with new releases and models. Performs periodic system updates.
Works with network resources to verify they are up to date with appropriate firmware, patches and hotfix levels. Works to endure access controls, backups and firewalls are up to date.
Performs implementations and system administration-related tasks. Generates project schedules and creates metrics to be reviewed at each project milestone. Creates scalable, automated solutions to support acquisition management.
Acts as the prime technical liaison between the users and vendor support engineers to revolve implementation, access and functionality issues.
Develops a knowledge base document for users and administration.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of four to seven (4-7) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.
