SUMMARY
The Communications Specialist will be responsible for assisting with writing and communication projects that support a cohesive federal communication strategy which includes communications for a diverse group of civilians and military and external public affairs opportunities. Plans and implements communication strategies. This is an onsite position that will report to the Washington, DC area.
Must maintain a Secret clearance which requires U.S. Citizenship

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supports the implementation of cohesive communications strategies that span social media, media relations, email campaigns, and related communications strategies.
Coaches and mentors other communications professionals on the team.
Creates and implements communications material that delivers consistent key messages to target audiences through appropriate channels that are consistent with branding, messaging, and digital (social media) strategies.
Engages with project stakeholders in written and oral communication effectively and professionally.
Prepares quality client deliverables.
Supports public engagements, inward-facing engagements (leading the planning and execution of Agency events), media relations, knowledge management, and preserving the agency’s history.
Elevates the brand awareness through events, social media, DISA.mil and other communication channels.
Conducts daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two (2+) years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience. Additional work experience and/or advanced education (Master’s Degree, MBA, etc.) is preferred.

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.

The estimated pay range for this role is $53K to $70K, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
