The Export Controlled Information (ECI) Reviewer provides support to the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Nuclear Energy (NE). This position reviews the abstracts of a collection of legacy applied technologies (AT) held by the Office of Science and Technological Information (OSTI) to determine whether or not the abstracts contain export controlled information (ECI).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for compliance with laws and regulations governing export controls, to include the Arms Export Control Act, the Export Administration Act, the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, and the Atomic Energy Act. Additionally, responsible for compliance with regulations issued pursuant to these to include the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Department of Energy’s (DOE) export regulations.
Reviews ECI abstracts and upon completion of review, reviews individual completed documents on a Government prioritized list and/or as legacy AT documents are requested by the public.
Reviews program and policy developments and distributes Legacy AT documents and similar research and development (R&D) documents intended for public and industry use.
Conducts Sensitivity reviews of legacy DOE STI (non-AT legacy ECI reviews) including requests made through Science Research Connection (SRC) by DOE employees or contractors and sensitivity reviews on recently digitized legacy STI.
Trains other ECI reviewers, assisting with review process documents, and other tasks related to the DOE STI collection where ECI expertise is required.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years’ experience; or equivalent combination of education / experience.
Extensive experience (5+ years) in reviewing STI for ECI. Experience with unclassified controlled nuclear information (UCNI), PII, classification, etc. is preferred.
CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION
Must be able to obtain government security clearance
U.S Citizens/ Green Card only due to government or federal requirement

Advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, etc.).
