SUMMARY

The Stock Clerk supports the Dining Facility (DFAC) food services at Fort McCoy, WI by performing a variety of duties such as receipt and distribution of stock, count and inspection for the condition of all deliveries. The Stock Clerk performs temperature checks of all potentially hazardous foods and frozen foods to ensure food safety and quality. In addition to Stock Clerk duties, the position supports all aspects of dining facility operations including performing cash register duties, serving line duties, all cleaning duties (i.e. dishwashing, pot washing, floor and carpet cleaning). This position may require the ability to work a variety of overtime hours, which includes evenings, weekends and overnight hours. This operation will require flexibility to deliver service in a mobile kitchen and mermite delivery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Receives all food deliveries, supplies and equipment for dining facility operations.

Checks all food items for damage or spoilage. Rejects items that do not meet regulation requirements. Reports any damage of equipment and supplies for DFAC to Dining Facility Manager.

Performs temperature checks of all potentially hazardous foods and frozen foods to ensure they meet regulation requirements upon delivery.

Sorts and verifies receipt of incoming items using the invoice or packing list, noting corrections of items received prior to faxing receipt to the appropriate office.

Employs first in – first out (FIFO) method to store all foods in bins, shelves, freezers, or refrigeration units.

Labels all incoming items according to TB Med 530, DA Pam 30-22, and AR 30-22 regulations.

Ensures equipment items are fully functional.

Ensures compliance with applicable Army regulations and instructions.

Stocks all paper supplies in storeroom on shelves, in bins and/or on shelves according to regulation requirements.

Distributes all stock that is requested by kitchen personnel and annotates stock on DFAC kitchen requisition form.

Prepares weekly inventory and end of month inventory for DFAC manager.

Requisitions all cleaning supplies and paper supplies.

Cleans all storerooms, freezers and refrigeration units, ensuring specified levels of sanitation are maintained.

Supports all aspects of dining facility operations including performing cash register duties, serving line duties, all cleaning duties (i.e. dishwashing, pot washing, floor and carpet cleaning).

Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. 

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and a minimum of six (6) months relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.

CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION

Current sanitation certificate (within last 4 years) or ability to obtain a sanitation certificate

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Regularly lifts and/or moves up to twenty-five pounds, and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to fifty pounds. Works near moving mechanical parts. Regularly exposed to general office and general office machinery noise. May be exposed to warehouse, truck or forklift noise.
