The position of AIRPORT MANAGER will be for one of multiple locations - CENTCOM. All positions will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the designated requirements for various locations with associated hazard pay and deployment rotation support. Working in a team environment, coordinating responsibilities for reporting, briefing and operational management is expected. Responsible for management and providing oversight of the airfield functions of Flight Operations; Air Traffic Services and Facilities; Aviation Fuel Services; Weather Services and Foreign Object Damages and Debris (FOD).  Shall perform in accordance with AR 95–1 and standard operating procedures established by the Senior Airfield Authority.


Coordinates activities and services with aircrews, air traffic control and various base command staff and agencies to ensure safe operation of aircraft within the airfield environment and national and international airspace. 


Must already possess and be able to maintain a Secret Clearance.


Requires a valid Passport (not expiring within next 6 months).


Must pass a health examination/physical and obtain the proper vaccinations as needed.



Essential core duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Directs, assists, and provides aircrews with information and services to accomplish operational activities relating to airfield operations, management and flight planning operations functions with high proficiency in air regulation (US, Military and International); aeronautical charts, maps, and publications; flight data and NOTAM systems; familiarity of navigational aids; basic aircraft design characteristics; fundamentals of meteorology; and principles of organization, purpose, operation, and management of airfield operational areas in accordance with AR 95–1; AR 95-2; TC 3-04.81 Facility Operations, Training, Maintenance, and Standardization; and local airfield & runway standard operating procedures established by the Senior Airfield Authority governing airfield and heliport management to include, but not limited to:


Process flight plans.


Initiate and disseminate notice to airmen (NOTAM).


Process prior permission required (PPR), civil aircraft landing permit (CALP), and Army aircraft landing authorization number (AALAN) requests.


Coordinate for aircraft support for transportation, customs, immigration, homeland security, and agriculture inspections.


Provide AAF/AHP command and control information.


Provide airfield advisory services.


Maintain flight information publications.


Initiate overdue aircraft procedures.


Activate secondary crash alarm systems.


Conduct AAF/AHP inspections and checks.


Coordinate and monitor AAF/AHP security.


Coordinate and monitor daily AAF/AHP construction activities.


Responsible for the clear and professional communication, reporting and records controls within the CNI Program Management System. Cross departmental communication and coordination is expected.                                                   


Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.


Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.


Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.



Previous experience operating in an OCONUS function relevant to the position requirement.

Previous experience operating in an austere environment in a deployment setting.

Undergraduate degree in related field including minimum of 10 years experience



Certificate in Air Field / Flight and Terminal Operation Procedures



Excellent customer service skills with ability to apply good listening skills and to handle unusual or complex situations with a calm and focused approach


Basic knowledge and understanding of computer technology and related tools (i.e., tablets, notebooks, applications, video simulations, etc.)


Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, etc.)


Excellent verbal and written communications skills with ability to read and interpret materials such as diagrams and manuals


Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of management and coworkers, as well as a wide range of people with diverse backgrounds


Ability to respond to requests in a professional, helpful and timely manner


Ability to use tact in handling difficult individuals and/or situations


Solid critical thinking skills with ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems / issues


Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment and to learn / apply new knowledge and techniques related to technologic simulations and training exercises


Ability to be proactive, take initiative and accept accountability for assigned work functions


Flexible with ability to work a variety of shift assignments, including inclement weather conditions


Ability to be reliable and punctual


Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment



Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.



Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.



Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
