CNI has an anticipated opening for a Medical Logistics Supply Technician at Sheppard AFB.  Specific requirements and responsibilities are forthcoming.  An anticipated position denotes that we are currently evaluating the work.  In the meantime, we have started looking for outstanding talent to leverage our efforts. 


The Medical Logistics Supply Technician provides support to the 82nd Medical Group (MDG) at Sheppard AFB in San Antonio, TX. This position performs logistics, receiving, stocking, selecting and storing of medical supply items, supply turn-in, and medical group vehicle care.



Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for medical supply items, supply turn-in, and medical group vehicle care. This includes receiving, storing, selecting, shipping, pick-up and delivery of general or specialized bulk materials and equipment.


May serve to train/guide lower level employees.


May drive up to a 1.5 ton stake bed truck and 4-6K electric forklift for the delivery of medical equipment, supplies, and furniture. 


Coordinates with contracting and Air Force Medical Logistics Office on equipment purchases including high dollar/investment purchases. Provides follow up of new requests as well as aged/retired equipment. 


Maintains close coordination with equipment custodians and medical maintenance activities to advise on and ensure proper accountability and procedures are in effect.


Assists with annual and initial equipment custodial training along with monitoring and updating

property custodian letters of appointment. 


Assists with annual equipment inventories, uses current copies of the Equipment Inventory List (EIL) or Customer Receipt/Locator lists (CRLs) to complete the counts.


Performs equipment inventories and tracking using a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system or equivalent methods as necessary. Inventories all in-use medical equipment for each assigned or detached organizational account. Assists in the process of initiating and tracking reports of missing equipment items.


Uses the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support System (DMLSS) for routine ordering and issue procedures as well as Microsoft applications, and Internet web-based applications such as The Integrated Global Equipment Request System (TIGERS). 


Assists in daily operations of the MEMO to prepare equipment package requests. 


Researches requisition status documentation and provides quality control of assigned equipment and new furniture being purchased or serviced. 


Assists with and preforms research to determine the best equipment sourcing options.


Tracks progress of funded equipment or furniture acquisitions and provides updates to customers. 


Participates in Equipment Review and Authorization Activities (ERAA), local meetings, training, seminars, and conferences as required.


Assists with preparation for the medical ERAA Board meeting to include coordinating the meeting with participants and preparing the agenda, slide show, and minutes.


Responsible for coordination scheduling and transportation requests for the turn-in of unserviceable medical equipment, supplies, and furniture.  This includes handling the proper documentation and scheduling of equipment/supplies for the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO) and base transportation. 


Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.


Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. 


Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers.  Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources.  Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.



Associate's degree in management, accounting, healthcare administration, or completion of a military basic medical material course. At least five (5) years’ experience in healthcare medical logistics with equipment and supply, inventory management, and supply oversight. Experience with medical purchasing and activities required to determine the most viable source for equipment with consideration for price, quality, and timeliness of delivery. Experience operating a 1.5 ton stake bed truck and 4-6K electric forklift.



Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.


Must have a Valid Driver’s License


This position requires having the following immunizations, with accompanying proof copies of such records, prior to an offer of employment. The responsibility of purchasing these immunizations and/or gathering these records is the responsibility of each interested candidate.

Hepatitis B (3-shot series for immunity)

Measles / Mumps / Rubella (MMR)

Varicella (Chicken Pox)

TB Skin Test with negative results (if positive, proof of negative chest results within the past 12 months)




Ability to drive up to a 1.5 ton stake bed truck and 4-6K electric forklift for the delivery of medical equipment, supplies, and furniture

Excellent mechanical skills to handle equipment correctly in order to avoid causing injuries to self and others

Ability to implement and follow all safety and emergency procedures

Excellent customer service skills; ability to work with a diverse group of coworkers and customers

Excellent communications skills with ability to communicate system problems to both coworkers and management for proper understanding

Excellent time-management skills with ability to follow instructions and to work independently

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-one-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.



Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.



Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
