Health Policy Analyst
The Health Policy Analyst supports the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) by conducting detailed research and acquiring federal and state policies and regulations for Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). This position also maintains a database of relevant state and federal policies and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Locates, acquires, and downloads state and federal Medicaid and CHIP policies and regulations for use by auditors, reviewers, and Medicaid and CHIP stakeholders, including, but not limited to, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid.
Uploads, indexes, and maintains database of policies, regulations, and related materials into a database.
Runs and analyzes productivity reports and helps to develop and monitor corrective action plans for milestones that fall behind schedule.
Analyzes and summarizes federal and state regulations and policies for Medicaid and CHIP reimbursements. Supports review teams that are responsible for assessing if reimbursements to medical providers were in compliance with regulations and policies.
Maintains the confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Maintains the confidentiality of all work products.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.
