The Database Administrator supports the design, build and operation of a MS SQL database infrastructure for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA). This position solves complex problems / challenges to improve the reliability and performance of the database environment. Specifically, this position will be responsible for daily maintenance, monitoring, performance analysis, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and user assistance required to enhance the services platform.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitors and maintains MS SQL 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2014, and 2016 database platforms. Investigates related problems, implements solutions, achieves efficiency gains, and automates repetitive tasks.
Defines and champions database best practices.
Performs and/or automates routine database maintenance operations and tasks.
Improves and maintains the backup and recovery process.
Collaborates with a team, and provides database performance / modeling expertise in support of design, infrastructure, query analysis, security and integrity issues.
Responsible for the maintenance of MS SQL SSRS, SSIS and stored procedures.
Analyzes and develops strategies for improving database architectures.
Troubleshoots and resolves issues with databases. Helps to troubleshoot related issues across entire hardware, software, application and network environment.
Works with IT Security team to insure security criteria are met within a PCI and non-PCI compliant environment.
Researches, implements, and tests new database components.
Monitors database size / growth; projects and/or solves space allocation needs.
Develops, maintains, and modifies store procedures and jobs for applications using MS SQL.
Provides database installation and configuration services.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and required experience as listed below. A degree in another technical discipline may be substituted depending on other qualifications, and length and type of specialized experience.
Database Administrator – 9C -Level 3 (required degree + 6 years of MS SQL DBA experience)
Database Administrator – 8C -Level 2 (required degree + 3 years of MS SQL DBA experience)
Database Administrator – 7C -Level 1 (required degree + 1 year of MS SQL DBA Experience)
