System Administrator I
The System Administrator I performs a variety of technical tasks required to operate, maintain, and facilitate expanded system usage through implementation of new data sets, expansion of the user base, and incorporation of new solutions within the U. S. Robins Air Force Base product data environments. This position ensures the product data infrastructure and processes remain viable tools for development, management, storage, sustainment, publication and distribution of Air Force product and technical data. These activities include development of new, or enhancement or improvement of existing, system implementations, and establishment and management of processes to transform data to ensure requirements associated with USAF enterprise-level system implementations are satisfied.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Researches hardware and software solutions, to provide purchase recommendations to the government program manager, and to implement hardware and software changes within the environment as required.
Performs configuration, testing and implementation of new hardware and/or software applications, as necessary.
Routinely implements changes in the environment as necessary to ensure compliance with mandatory security directives / updates, and to ensure performance parameter requirements are achieved.
Administers and sustains the Robins AFB product data infrastructure. This includes the identification, recording, tracking, and resolution of all problems / issues, to include documentation and cause of system downtime (whether scheduled or unscheduled).
Utilizes and maintains historical database to facilitate rapid identification of common system problems and trend analysis activities.
Creates and establishes improvements and/or enhancements of existing, system implementations. Utilizes industry-established management of processes for transforming data while ensuring requirements associated with USAF enterprise-level system implementations are satisfied.
Performs tasks necessary to help facilitate compliance with DoD-mandated data center consolidation and cloud computing efforts.
Maintains confidentiality, and upholds industry standards necessary to foster the adoption of safe, secure cloud computing options, to include the implementation of organizational cloud computing environments, steps to achieve data center consolidation objectives, and delivery of cloud services.
Assists with maintenance and tracking of government-owned software license documentation and media for non-standard software utilized within the Product / Technical Data Systems Support environments.
Ensures that all software installed is in utilized accordance with appropriate license agreements, and that software managed and is processed for approval and placement on the Air Force Evaluated Products Listing (EPL) or the appropriate certification and approval package activities. This includes activities necessary to load (typically in a batch load process) all inspected documents into the current vaulting system (or an approved alternate vaulting system) for access, query, viewing, storage, printing and distribution of the electronic TOs.
Identifies, resolves and reports to government program manager instances of usage of illegal software on assigned systems.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and a minimum of one (1) year relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience. Experience working on DoD installations and writing / utilizing scripts for task automation preferred.
CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION
Must currently possess active (or recently held within past 90 days) Common Access Card (CAC) due to government requirement
CompTIA Security+ Certification required
JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Proficient working knowledge of systems administration processes and the hardware and software components within the Product Data Systems environments
Knowledge and understanding of the tools, concepts, practices and procedures of security incident management, threat intelligence and continuous monitoring
Operational knowledge of XML, BAT files, and command line usage with ability to write and utilize scripts for task automattion
Ability to troubleshoot basic computer hardware / software installations and issues, including Windows 7 and Windows 10 desktop operating systems
Highly skilled proficiency using and troubleshooting Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Explorer, Adobe Acrobat, and native SGML or Adobe Frame Maker™
Operational and working knowledge of indexed portable document format (IPDF) files and batch loading of resulting electronic files into the electronic repositories
Ability to administer highly reliable systems solutions for delivering required business capabilities
Ability to resourcefully utilize available tools and resources to resolve issues
Effective verbal and written communication skills with solid reporting skills
Ability to clearly and concisely communicate / explain technical information to a broad range of people with varying levels of technical expertise
