Senior Systems Administrator
The Senior Systems Administrator provides systems administrations support to the Air Combat Command (ACC), Communication Support Squadron (CSS), within the United States Air Force (USAF) product data environments. This position ensures servers, workstations, peripherals; communications devices and operating system/applications software are configured properly for network operation, are on-line, and are available to customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Ensures compliance with established policies and procedures.
Performs responsibilities delegated by the Network Ops Center (NOC)/Network Control Center (NCC), to optimize performance and quality of service.
Assigns and maintains user IDs and passwords.
Administers user privileges in the system. Performs routine system maintenance.
Assists the NOC/NCC in the implementation of network security policies and procedures.
Implements software patches and security fixes as required by the Air Force Network Operation and Security Center (AFNOSC) or program management office.
Performs tests and validates the proper operation and configuration with appropriate patches and fixes, as required, prior to restoring any device to the network.
Ensures physical security of DoD information Network (DoDIN) components.
Monitors issue reports and system advisory notifications.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of experience/education.
CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATION
Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Top Secret Clearance
CCNA-Security certification and/or Security + required with enrollment into the CE program within 6 months
JOB SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
Proficient working knowledge of systems administration processes and hardware and software components
Knowledge and understanding of the tools, concepts, practices and procedures of security incident management, threat intelligence and continuous monitoring
Ability to troubleshoot basic computer hardware / software installations and issues, including Windows 7 and Windows 10 desktop operating systems
Highly skilled proficiency using and troubleshooting Microsoft Office Suite, Internet Explorer, and Adobe Acrobat
Ability to administer highly reliable systems solutions for delivering required business capabilities
Ability to utilize available tools and resources to resolve issues
Verbal and written communication skills with solid reporting skills
Ability to clearly and concisely communicate / explain technical information to a broad range of people with varying levels of technical expertise
Excellent customer service skills with ability to use tact in handling difficult individuals and/or situations
Detail-oriented with proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities as well as to meet specified deadlines
Ability to work effectively, both individually and in a team environment
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables iin situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
