The Truck Driver performs oilfield waste disposal services by operating a tank truck to haul, transport and dispose of salt water to well disposal sites.  This position performs pickup and disposal transport services at various oilfield well servicing, drilling and production locations and helps to ensure the safety of all worksite personnel by performing the duties of the job

according to established operating procedures.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.  Other duties maybe assigned.

Drives trucks to and from loading stations to the customer locations, disposal sites, or back to the area office location.  Hauls and disposes of salt water and by-products using a tractor-trailer following DOT guidelines. 

 

Performs safety inspections as required by DOT, and maintains a DOT driver log and records to include time according to regulations and requirements.  Conducts pre- and post-trip inspections of tractor trailer units, hoses, fittings, and valves.  Maintains accurate records based on the company’s requirements, the work performed for the customer as well as the ability to maintain accurate driving logs, pre-trip/post-trip inspections and maintenance files on the vehicle. 

 

Properly completes paperwork and DOT logs.

 

Pulls hose from the truck’s hose tray, and connects one end of the hose to the truck and the other end to the load valve. Monitors the amount of fluid required for the job based on the fluid requested by the customer, the amount of fluid the transport is lawfully allowed to haul, and other related requirements.

 

Maintains satisfactory customer service, keeping radio or telephone contact with supervisor or dispatcher to receive delivery or pickup instructions.

 

Maintains daily inventory of tools, fittings, and hose connections on the unit.  Gauges and records levels on tank trucks.

 

Washes and maintains trucks and equipment after disposal of the salt water.

 

Alerts appropriate supervision when mechanical defects are noted on the truck. 

Reports all safety issues, incidents, and concerns to Bullet Energy Services management, as well as notifies supervisor of current or anticipated repair needs.

Interacts with all customers in a courteous and respectful manner, and communicate clearly and effectively. 

Attends monthly safety meetings.

 

Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such away as to maximize output.  Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to any training made available by the company.

 

Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will relay any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and Human Resources.  Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and minimum of one year verifiable oilfield driving experience; or equivalent combinations of education / training / experience. Must be at least 25 years of age.  Must have a clean driving record.  Must pass D.O.T. physical, drug screen, MVR check and background check pursuant to local, state and federal rules and obtain a D.O.T. medical card. 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION

Class A CDL with tanker endorsement

 

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

Operational knowledge of all applicable DOT rules and regulations, and all job related company, Local, State and Federal requirements

Basic knowledge and understanding of the standard concepts, practices and procedures related to waste transportation and disposal operations

Knowledge of oil and gas waste disposal equipment

Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines                                   

Ability to troubleshoot, determine the best course of action, and to appropriately escalate unusual issues or matters of concern, when needed

Ability to make sound, well-informed and objective decisions and to perceive the impact / implications of decisions

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Exceptional customer service skills with ability to represent company in a positive and competent manner and to use tact in handling difficult individuals and/or situations

Ability to effectively work both independently and in a team environment

Flexible with ability to work a variety of shift assignments, including overtime, during inclement weather conditions, as well as weekends and other non-traditional work shifts

Ability to travel extensively and work on call.

 

MATHMETICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-one-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
