Project Manager - CDC ICRA
The Project Manager provides strategic and tactical leadership and support to help effectively execute and deliver key customer activities in support of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) initiatives. This position is responsible for overseeing the onsite project management and implementation of processes / tools in support of the client and other key CDC personnel such as the Immunization Information Systems (IIS) Executive Board and Internal Working Group. The Project Manager also supports procurement, program assurance and governance, and special project initiatives in areas such as IIS metrics development, and meeting support / facilitation. This position ensures that all project goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe, budgetary parameters and to the customer’s satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supports development and implementation governance processes, communications plans, templates, change control procedures and progress tracking methods for the IIS Strategic Plan and IIS strategic initiatives.
Supports the portfolio management process for current, ongoing and planned NCIRD IIS investments. Utilizes indicators and metrics agreed upon by the CDC and aligned to the IIS Strategic Plan goals, objectives, success outcomes and metrics.
Manages SharePoint content by updating, maintaining and improving the SharePoint repository and visualization of project and portfolio information.
Develops and maintains risk and issue logs on SharePoint for internal / external Boards managing the Strategic Plan, and for the IIS portfolio of strategic initiatives.
Coordinates CDC Enterprise Performance Life Cycle (EPLC) documentation and compliance for projects. Creates and maintains a deliverable tracking mechanism, and tracks the progress of deliverables from contractors and sub-committees.
Provides program assurance by conducting ongoing impact assessment of changes in the environment (i.e., SWOT Analysis). Participates in the monitoring and updating of the Program Assurance plan and workflow processes. Defines the specific project status information requirements, sources, data collection methods and frequencies.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety of self and coworkers. Will report any unsafe conditions and/or practices to the appropriate supervisor and human resources. Will immediately correct any unsafe conditions to the best of own ability.
Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and a minimum of six (6) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education / experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred
